5 die in Bogra road crash
Five people were killed and 20 injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogra Sunday afternoon.
Habib Md Halimuzzaman, 47, a deputy secretary of public administration ministry, are among the injured, reports our Bogra correspondent quoting local Nejarat Deputy Collector (NDC) Md Arifuzzaman.
Mahmudul Alam, officer-in-charge of Shahjahanpur Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound bus of SR Plus Paribahan from Rangpur collided with an oncoming truck at Banani around 3:30pm.
Five passengers of the truck died on the spot while 20 others were injured in the accident, the OC said.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Halimuzzaman and other injured passengers were rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital.
