2 die, 13 missing in Rajshahi boat capsize
Two people drowned and 13 others went missing after a boat capsized in the Padma river in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Saturday.
The injured were identified as Itrat Jahan, 4, and Md Badsha, an imam of a mosque in the upazila.
The boat with around 50 people on board sank in the middle of the river due to strong current and wind around 12:00pm, said Khowaj Ali, chairman of Char Alatali Union Parishad.
All but 15 passengers managed to swim ashore, the chairman said adding the boat was going to Char Alatali from Rail Bazar, reports our Rajshahi correspondent.
Later, locals rescued the bodies of two deceased while 13 others could not be traced till 5:30pm when the report was filed.
