Thousands of People of Modhya Phulbari area in the town brought out a procession and submitted a memo to the Deputy Commissioner, Bogra, demanding arrest of the culprits who killed Lima for dowry. Lima Aktar, 20, daughter of Taslim Uddin Sheikh of Maddha Phulbari area in the town was killed at her in-law's house on Monday last. Victim's family told this correspondent that Lima was married off with Shamim Mia, 30, son of Surjaya Mia of the same area about eight months ago. They gave Shamim Tk. 6 lakh as dowry for getting a job in Talora municipality and later arranged another Tk. 2 lakh for his transfer from Talora to Bogra. But Shamim was torturing his wife now and then for more dowry money and on Monday last strangled Lima at her in-law's house. Lima's brother Nurul Islam Tuton said, her father lodged a case with Bogra PS, accusing 5, including Shamim. The killers will be brought took, assured OC Shahid Alam of Sadar PS, who said that primarily it was found that Lima was strangled.
