Three boys rescued from traffickers

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued three minor boys while they were being trafficked to India through Sadipur frontier of Benapole yesterday. The boys were identified as Sagar, 10, son of Udjog Biswas in Madaripur district, Ashraf, 11, son of Hiro Mollah in Narail district and Hakim, 12, son of Rafiqul Islam in Narail. 26 BGB Benapole Camp commander Rafiqul Islam said, on secret information that some children were being trafficked to India through Sadipur border, a team of BGB conducted a drive and rescued them. However, no one was arrested as the human trafficker fled the scene, sensing the presence of the border guards. Earlier on Tuesday, the border guards detained nine people while they were going to India illegally through Benapole border. The detainees hailed from different areas of Dhaka, Magura, Narail, Pirojpur and Madaripur districts. Azizur Rahman, sub-inspector of Benapole port PS, said members of Benapole BGB Camp arrested the nine from Putkhali border in the early hours while they were going to India illegally with the help of human traffickers.
