6 die in road crashes
Six people were killed and 10 others injured in road accidents in the country on Sunday and yesterday.
Our Bogra correspondent reports, four people were killed and five others injured in Bogra yesterday.
In Sherpur upazila, an unidentified passenger was killed and the driver of the rickshaw-van injured when a bus rammed it in Helencapara bypass area around 2:00pm yesterday.
Meanwhile, another passenger of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was killed and four others, including the driver, were injured when a truck hit the three-wheeler in Shalfa area in Dhunat upazila yesterday.
The dead is Shahin Alam, 30, of Dhunat municipal area.
The injured are Goljar Hossen, 60, Shafiqul Islam, 22, Azahar Ali, 38, and the driver Nabir uddin, 25, of the upazila.
In Shajahanpur upazila, driver of a three-wheeler, Abdul Khaleque, 35, of Sherpur upazila, was killed as a goods-laden truck hit the vehicle in Kathaltola area on Sunday night.
While in Adamdhigi upazila, a motorcyclist died when his motorbike collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-riackshaw on Bogra-Naogaon highway in Induil area in the upazila on Sunday evening.
The deceased is Abu Hena, 50, of the upazila.
Our Netrakona correspondent adds, a person was killed and five others were injured as a Netrakona-bound tempo fell into a roadside ditch after the driver lost his control over the steering on Netrakona-Mohonganj road at Krishnakhali in Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased is Sahabuddin, 22, of Sadar upazila. Critically injured Mohammad Ali and Abdul Hamid were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Our Kurigram correspondent adds, an old woman was killed when a motorbike it her while she was crossing Kurigram-Bhurungamari road in Sadar upazila yesterday. The victim is Huziran Bewa, 55, of the upazila.
