3 die in road crashes
Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Chittagong and Manikganj yesterday.
Our staff correspondent from Chittagong reports, a passenger was killed and four others, including the driver, were injured when their CNG-run auto-rickshaw was hit by an oncoming truck in Moijjertek area around 10:00am.
The deceased is Ananta Datta, 46, of Banshkhali upazila. The injured are Mohammad Salim, 35, Mohammad Ali, 40, Mohammad Gazi, 38, and Rezaul Karim, 28, of the upazila.
Our Manikganj correspondent adds, two people were killed and three others injured as a bus of Village Line Paribahan hit a roadside tree in Jagir area in Sadar upazila around 4:00pm after the driver lost his control over the steering on Dhaka-Aricha highway.
The dead are Samela Begum, 60, of Gopinathpur village and Runu, 30, of Sultanpur village in the district.
The injured were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
