13 charged for cop killing
Police has submitted the charge sheet accusing 13 persons over the killing of Araihazar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Nasir Siraji in June 2011.
Khagkanda River Police Outpost In-Charge and SI Md Nasir Uddin submitted the charge sheet on January 4, relieving 33 other people from the case as the charges brought against them were not proved.
On June 17, 2011, an Araihazar police team, including Siraji, were conducting a drive at Kadamir Char under Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj when criminals attacked them.
Siraji went missing in the incident and a month later his body was recovered from Meghna river.
A case was filed with Araihazar Police Station in this connection against 46 people and 10 to 12 other unidentified persons.
