Bush Murder in Bogra

3 accused arrested

Police have arrested three of the 16 accused in the case for killing Jubo League leader Samim Hossain allias Bush, after about a month of hectic efforts. Bush was a member of No. 13 ward unit Jubo League in Bogra town. The arrestees are Likhon, 22, son of late Aminul Islam allias Shain, Shariful Islam, 23, son of Osman Gani and Faisal Ahmed, 21, son of late Abdus Sattar of the district town. Inspector (Investigation) of Shajahanpur PS and Investigation Officer (IO) in the case Atiar Rahman told this correspondent that a joint team conducted a drive and arrested Likhon from Malbhanga area of Nageswari upazila in Kurigram district on Saturday night. Later they also arrested the other two accused -- Shariful and Faisal -- from Maltinagar area in the district town at 6:00am yesterday. Officer in-charge (OC) of the PS Mahamudul Alam told reporters that Likhon disclosed some important information regarding Bush murder. Earlier Jubo League leader Shamim Ahmed alias Bush, 28, son of Abdus Samad of Phultola (Tanapara) area in the town, was murdered near his residence by 10/12 unidentified criminals around 8:00pm on December 19. The next day maternal uncle of the deceased Ranju Pramanik lodged a murder case with Shajahanpur PS, accusing 16 people.
