Shops, school gutted
At least 25 shops, five houses and rooms of a school were gutted in a devastating fire at Pujgang Bazar in Panchhari upazila on Thursday night.
Witnesses said the fire originated from a cooking stove at a tea shop in the area at about 10:00pm and soon engulfed the adjacent shops, five dwellings and rooms of 'Bonasree Shishu Niketan,' a kindergarten school.
On information, a fire fighting unit from the district town rushed in and doused the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts.
