Girl rescued
Police rescued a girl from Jhumur Movie House area in the town on Monday, 18 days after she was abducted by criminals.
Police said that the teenage girl, a class IX student of Tumchar Dakhil Madrasa, was kidnapped by a gang, led by Tauhidul Islam, son of Hafiz Ullah of Bainchanagar village of local municipality, from Shimultala when she was returning to her Tumchar home from the madrasa on December 13.
