College principal confined
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) cadres confined the principal of Patuakhali Government College to his office room for about half an hour yesterday. They also ransacked the principal's room. Police and college sources said a gang of 15/20, allegedly led by Atiqur Rahman Parvez, secretary of college unit BCL, confined Principal Pranesh Kanti Sikder to his room at around 3:00pm bringing a number of corruption charges against him. On Information, police rushed to the spot and rescued Pranesh. Contacted, the principal said “I am not aware why they launched the attack. Despite repeated attempts, this correspondent could not reach the BCL leader for his comment over the issue.
