One of 12 accused held from his friend's house
One of the 12 accused in the case for killing of a Jatiya Party (JP) central leader`s son was arrested at Karamda village at Pritimpasha union in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar district yesterday morning.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Kulaura police station, led by its officer-in-charge (OC), conducted a drive at Karamda village and arrested Ekram Hossain Pulok, one of the accused in Engineer Sajib murder case, from the sun-shed of his friend's house at around 5:00am.
On December 9, a gang of 15-20 identified local criminals allegedly led by Titon Mollick stabbed Mehrab Siddiqui Sajib, 27, an architect and youngest son of Abdullah Siddique, central organising secretary of JP, in front of his Khoradipara village home in Shibganj upazila.
Sajib was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead
Imran Siddiqui, elder brother of the victim, alleged that Titon and his cohorts had an altercation with Sajib at the village on the day.
At around 8:30pm, Titon and his cohorts, ridding 5-6 motorcycles came to Sajib`s house, dragged him out of the house and stabbed him indiscriminately, Imran said.
Police said Ekram had been hiding since the murder.
