Severing Wife's Tendons in Bogra
Culprit held in Mymensingh
Police arrested a man, who allegedly severed the tendons of his wife, from a fish market in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh district on Saturday.
The arrestee is Sohel Ibne Karim, 33, son of Abdul Karim of Dumuri village under Adamdighi upazila of Bogra district.
Sohel's wife Shirin Aktar, 25, was daughter of Azizar Rahman of the same area.
A case was lodged by her father under Women and Children Repression Act on the following day, accusing five people.
ASP of Bogra district police Ashraful Islam raided the spot and arrested Sohel on Saturday evening.
Police will do all to nab all the accused to bring them to book, said the ASP.
Shirin was hung from a tree by Sohel presuming her dead. Sohel also severed the tendons of her legs, alleged Azizar in the case.
Shirin was taken to the Adamdighi upazila health complex and later shifted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH) and finally sent to the capital city.
She is now fighting for life at Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka.
