Baul Mela begins in Manikganj today
A three-day long Baul Mela (gathering of mystics) will begin at Manikganj Government Boys' High School playground today.
Information secretary Hedayetullah Al Mamun will formally inaugurate the event arranged by Mother Foundation, a local organisation.
Among others, M. Hamid, director general of Bangladesh Television, will be present as special guest.
The organisation will also accord reception to the meritorious students of the district, said Md Ramzan Ali, mayor of Manikganj municipality and founder of the organisation.
They will also accord reception to Tabarakul Tosaddek Hossain Tito, newly elected director of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), said the mayor.
Tito is also a director of Manikganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Among others, renowned Lalon singer Farida Parvin will perform at the fair.
