Tiger kills crab collector
A crab collector was killed in a tiger attack at a point of Markey Canal near River Arua Shibsa under Sunderbans west zone on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Oliar Rahman, 17, son of Abdur Rashid Sana of Koyra village in Koyra upazila of the district.
Forest Department sources said, Oliar along with his neighbours went to the forest on Sunday to collect crab taking permission from Kashiabad forest station.
A tiger swooped on Oliar and dragged him into the deep forest when he was netting crab in the canal at around 11.00am.
Later, his neighbour Akbarul and other two fishermen recovered the decomposed body and handed it over to his family members.
On Saturday, Abu Siddique, a golpata (leaf) collector of Koyra village was killed at Sachianagla under the same forest department.
