Four arrested in Bogra Rekkat murder case

Khairul Anam RekkatDetective Branch (DB) of police here on Sunday arrested four people on charge of killing Swechchhasebok League leader Khairul Anam Rekkat.
DB police sources said, several teams raided different areas in Sadar, Dupchacia and Sherpur upazila for about 48 hours and arrested the four.
The arrestees are Masud, 24, son of Shamim Ahmed of Rahman Nagor, Mahmud Hasan, 30, son of Jamal Uddin of Thonthonia (Nutunpara), Konok Sarker, 24, son of late Mehedul Islam of Rahman Nagar and Pintu Mia, 30, son of Jamal Uddin of Thonthonia in the town.
Police said that the arrestees confessed to killing Rekkat under Section 164 before the magistrate. They are also on the list of the accused in the case filed by the father of the diseased.
Police also picked up four others on suspicion during the drives. The arrestees are Taleb, Kaosar, Manik and Shadin of Rahman Nagar area in the town.
Earlier, Bogra town Swechchhasebok League joint convenor Khairul Anam Rekkat, 35, was shot dead at noon at his business centre "Rekkat Traders" in Rahman Nagar area of the town on December 17, 2012.
Father of the deceased Abdul Kaium Ofa lodged a murder case with Bogra Sadar PS the next day, accusing 11 identified and 6 unidentified people.
Mizanur Rahman of DB police said that on the basis of the statement of arrestee Mahmud, police also raided the east side of Roads and Highway office in Rahman Nagar area of the town and recovered a foreign made pistol, a magazine with three bullets and 7 knives.
