Abducted schoolboy killed

An abducted schoolboy was found murdered at Darirajnagar village in Singair upazila yesterday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Russel Ahmed, 8, son of Saudi expatriate Afzal Fakir of the village. He was a class four student. Rusel's mother Renu Akter said her son was abducted on Sunday noon when he went to a shop near the home. She alleged kidnappers Ajgar Ali, her husband's younger brother, and neighbour Rupali Akter and her mother Nurjahan Begum were involved in the killing. Ajgar had an illicit relation with Rupali for long, she said, adding that Rupali along with Nurjahan went to their home to meet Ajgar on Saturday but he was not available and his phone was switched off as well. Locals found the Russel's body lying in a field at the village yesterday and informed police, said Md Liakat Ali, officer in-charge of Singair Police Station. The law enforcers then recovered the body from the spot and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy. A general diary was filed in this connection, said the OC. Away in Lalmonirhat, police rescued a clearing and forwarding agent at Burimari land port from Patgram upazila on Monday, two days after his abduction. The victim was identified as Abdul Quader, 33, of Burimari village, reports our correspondent. Police said Quader was abducted allegedly by his rival Tahazul Islam Mithu and his cohorts from his residence on Saturday. Quader's father then filed a case with Patgram Police Station accusing Mithu and others.
