2 held with bombs in Chuadanga
Police arrested two people along with three bombs in Damurhuda upazila on Saturday night.
The arrestees were identified as Sohel Rana, son of Shahidul Islam, and Mahbub Hossain, son of Abdul Wahed, of Darshana Islambazar area in the upazila.
Officer in-charge of Damurhuda police station Ahsan Habib said, Sohel and Mahbub were moving suspiciously behind Ankur School, some 50 yards off the office of local MP Haji Ali Asgar Tagar who was holding a meeting with his party activists there.
Locals challenged them suspecting their movement in the dark at about 10:30pm.
Later, they caught Sohel and Mahbub when they found three bombs searching their bodies and handed them over to police.
Police suspected that the duo took position in the area with bombs in a bid to carry out subversive activities at the office of the lawmaker.
