Land dispute leaves two killed
Two people were killed over land dispute in Narail and Magura districts yesterday.
Our Narail correspondent reported that a man was killed and five others were injured in a clash over a land dispute between two groups of villagers at Hardoma village in Gurudaspur upazila.
The deceased was identified as Khairul Bashar, 35, son of Abdur Rauf of the village.
Police said the clash erupted at around 12:00 noon between the supporters of Abdur Rauf and Abdul Gafur of the village, leaving Khairul Bashar, 35, dead on the spot and injuring five others from both sides.
The injured were admitted to Gurudaspur upazila Health Complex.
In Magura, A man was hacked to death by his rivals at Mobarakpur village in Mohammadpur upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Ilias Ali 35, son of Abdul Haque Molla.
Police quoted family members as saying that supporters of Nazrul Islam, a member of Nohata Union Parishad (UP) hacked Ilias with sharp weapons while Illias and three others were collecting earth from the land to fill up a nearby pond.
