7 hurt in AL-BNP clash
At least seven people were injured in a clash between the activists of Awami League and BNP in Taras upazila yesterday morning. Three of the injured were admitted to the upazila health complex while the rest given first aid. Locals said upazila BNP held a meeting at Taras Shaheed Minar on the occasion of 'democracy day'. At this, a group of AL men protested the programme stating that objectionable speech was delivered there and engaged in an altercation with the BNP activists. At one stage, a chase and counter case took place between the rival groups, leaving at least seven from both sides injured.
