Son helps police arrest mother

Unb, Madaripur
Failing to bear the disgrace caused by mother's involvement in illegal drug peddling anymore, a youth helped police to arrest his mother in Rajoir upazila on Sunday night. Police said Shahinur Begum and her daughter Jesmin have long been engaged in phensidyl trade at Purba Sharmangol village. Shahinur's son Qamrul, who returned home from abroad recently, failed to desist them from the illegal activities despite his frantic efforts. Even his mother threatened to drive him out of home due to his protest against the illegal business. As a consignment of the drug was brought to the house again, Qamrul, aided by local people, informed the police. A police team, led by officer in-charge (investigation) Emdadul Haque of Rajoir PS, rushed to the spot and recovered 40 bottles of phensidyl from the house and arrested Shahinur on Sunday night.
