630 sued over AL factional clash in Bagerhat
Three cases have been filed in connection with the Saturday's factional clash of local Awami League in Mollahat upazila.
Sadhon Kumar, sub-inspector of Mollahat police station, yesterday filed two cases against 20 identified and 400 unidentified ones on charges of obstructing police from performing their duty.
Upazila AL general secretary Shahinul Alam Sana on Monday filed another case against 10 identified and 200 unidentified people.
Mamun Mollah, son of upazila AL president Motahar Hossain Molla, has been named as the main accused in the case filed by Sana. All the accused were activists of AL, Bangladesh Chhatra League and Jubo League, said local sources.
At least 15 people were injured in a factional clash between the supporters of Shahinul Alam Sana and Motahar Hossain Molla at Khalilur Rahman Degree College ground in Mollahat upazila.
Meanwhile, police detained seven people from different areas of the upazila on Sunday night and Monday in connection with the clash.
