Indian goods seized
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized huge Indian contraband sarees, medicines and imitation jewelry sets worth Tk 1.20 crore at Rampur in Amrakhali area under Benapole Port Police Station yesterday. BGB Benapole Camp Commander Rafiqul Islam said, on secret information, a team raided the area and seized the goods at around 12:00pm. However, the smugglers fled the scene, sensing the presence of the BGB men. The seized goods were handed over to the custom godown, said Rafiqul.
