18 held from border
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested 18 people, including children and women, from Putkhali border while crossing the border illegally early yesterday. Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team raided the area and held four children, seven women and seven men when they were crossing the border without passport. The arrestees hail from Chittagong, Noakhali and Dhaka districts, BGB sources said. Later, they were handed over to Benapole Port police.
