Body recovered from UP office
Police recovered the body of a young man from the Panchgaon union parishad office in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar district yesterday morning. The deceased was identified as Gopen Das, 26, of village Dighirpar under Jagonnathpur upazila in Sunamganj district. Sources said Gopen went to Durgapur village in Rajnagar upazila on Sunday to meet the daughter of former member of Munshibazar union parishad Farid Miah, as recently a relation developed between them over cell phone. But the locals caught and handed him over to the Panchgaon union parishad chairman Muhir Kanti Das. They later kept him confined to a room of the parishad office. Getting no response from inside, the night guard opened the lock and found Gopen hanging from ceiling fan at about 11pm.
