Mob beats up JnU bus driver for accident
Angry mob beat up a Jagannath University (JnU) bus driver after the bus hit a passer-by in front of Suritola Primary School at Bangshal in the capital yesterday.
Injured Jagadish was rushed to a hospital.
Bangshal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Kuddus said the Mirpur-bound bus with some of the university teachers hit Jagadish.
Locals attacked the bus and beat up its driver, leaving his right hand broken.
Proctor Ashok Kumar Saha rushed to the spot.
Some students of the university engaged in a chase and counter-chase with the mob. Police fired teargas to bring the situation under control, the OC said.
Traffic on the road was disrupted for around half and hour, he added.
