Irregular students to get chance for registrations
The students, who could not complete their registrations for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations to be held in 2013 due to unscheduled break of studies, are going to get a chance to have their registrations.
Dhaka Education Board yesterday issued letters to the educational institutions asking them to send the number of such students, the board source said.
They also said education ministry will discuss the matter with the chairmen of all education boards in the next week.
Around 50 students of different schools yesterday formed a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club urging the government to allow them to sit for the SSC examinations through completing their registrations.
Sohel Rana, a student of Ali Ahammed School and College, told The Daily Star that after being promoted to class IX in 2009 he could not continue his studies due to familial and economic reasons. He got admitted to class IX in 2011 and was promoted to class X.
After introducing Junior School Certificate (JSC) exams in 2010, they have been barred from registrations due to not having JSC exams certificates, he said.
