Man gets life for murder
A court here on Wednesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment in a murder case.
The convict is Koyes Uddin, son of late Faruk Uddin of Nagar village in Golapganj upazila.
The court also fined him Tk 50,000, in default, he is to suffer 5 years more in jail.
According to the prosecution, one Fakhrul Islam of the village was stabbed to death by Koyes and his following a disputel over a land on April 28, 1998.
The victim's brother Nazrul Islam filed a case accusing Koyes and six others.
Additional District and Sessions JudgeManjurul Haque pronounced the verdict, acquitting the six others.
