Transport strike called off
Transport workers withdrew their 72-hour strike in Chapainawabganj district after a meeting with the district administration at the DC's office on Tuesday night.
Sajjadur Rahman, superintendent of police, Shahidul Islam, president of Chapainawabganj Truck and Motor Workers'Union and its General Secretary Abdul Khalek joined the meeting with the deputy commissioner in the chair.
Transport workers enforced a 72-hour strike in the district from Tuesday morning protesting illegal toll collection by a section of people in the transport sector in the name of a workers union.
