Schoolgirl drowns
A schoolgirl drowned in a river in Katiadi yesterday morning. The victim was identified as Purnima Akter, 9, student of Class III at Doshpakhi Government Primary School and daughter of Nuru Mia of Doshpakhi village. Locals said, Purnima drowned in the Arial Kha River near her house as she went to take a bath there along with friends at 11:00am. She did not know how to swim.
