AL leader killed in Shariatpur
A local leader of Awami League was killed by his rivals at Kodalpur village in Goshairhat upazila yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Abdus Sobhan Dewan, 55, office secretary of Kodalpur union Awami League.
Locals said there was a longstanding conflict between local Awami
League leaders Abdus Sobhan Dewan and Abdul Aleem over establishing
supremacy at the village.
They said, 5-6 supporters of Aleem swooped on Sobhan at Kodalpur union
AL office and stabbed him to death at about 9am.
Protesting the death of Sobhan, his supporters brought out a procession carrying the body and demanded arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers.
