College student, youth murdered in Comilla
A college student was stabbed to death while his friend sustained injury in an attack by a gang in front of Government Girls' College in the district town on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Arman, 17, son of Hossain Ali of Old Chowdhury Para area in the town.
Police said when Imran, 18, an HSC examinee and son of Abdus Sattar of Bagichagaon area along with his friend Arman went to the girls' college centre to see the seat plan, a gang of local criminals stabbed Arman indiscriminately.
The gang also stabbed Imran as he tried to save Arman, leaving him seriously injured.
They were rushed to the Comilla Medical College Hospital where Arman died.
In another incident, police recovered the body of a young man at frontier North Kaichchuti village in Chouddagram upazila of the district yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Karim, 30, a shop owner and son of late Abdul Halim of the village.
Family sources said some unidentified people called him out of his house Sunday night and he did not return home.
Police said locals found the body of Abdul Karim near a border pillar early in the morning and informed them.
