Outlawed party leader held
A leader of an outlawed outfit was arrested from a house at Khaskarra village in Alamdanga upazila on Tuesday night.
The arrestee was identified as Sukhchan alias Kosai Sukhchan, a regional commander of Purba Banglar Communist Party (ML-Janajuddha faction).
OC of Alamdanga PS Matiur Rahman said, on secret information, a team of local Tiorbila police camp raided the house at midnight and arrested him.
He said Sukhchan was wanted in a number of murder, extortion, bomb blast, abduction and other criminal cases.
In Munshiganj, police arrested a criminal along with a pipe gun from his house at Deusar village in Sadar upazila on Wednesday. The arrestee was identified as Mohsin Mia, 30, son Sirajul Islam of the village.
