Cash, pistol stolen
Criminals stole Tk 6 lakh, a foreign made pistol, 14 bullets and two magazines from the luggage of a BNP leader here early Monday. The incident took place at around 3:00am when Faruq Ahmed Talukder, president of Baufal upazila unit BNP, boarded Sundarbans-5, a double-decker launch, bound for Patuakhali from Dhaka. Faruq, also a member of party central committee, said he went to bed after the launch left the capital on Sunday evening. “When I woke up, the belongings were found missing in the luggage”.
