6 hurt in Jessore clash
At least six people were injured in a clash between two rival groups over a piece of disputed land at Shangkarpasha village in Abhoynagar upazila yesterday. Police said there was a longstanding enmity between Abul Kashem and Fazlur Rahman of the village over the land. An altercation took place between them over the issue in the morning when Abul Kashem's wife Ayesha Begum was collecting fallen leaves on the land. At one stage, both groups equipped with lethal weapons locked in a clash leaving six injured from both sides.
