Two outlaws held with firearms in Pabna
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two outlaws along with firearms at Bhowdanga village in Sadar upazila early yesterday.
The arrestees are Abu Kalam, 28, son of Eskan Pramanik of village Bhowdanga village and Manik Sardar, 42, of Ghoradah village.
They are alleged operatives of outlawed Naxal Bahini.
Rab sources said a team of the elite force raided the house of Abu Kalam and arrested the duo at around 5.00am while they were preparing for a meeting inside of the house.
Later, the Rab seized a 303 rifle and ten bullets from the kitchen of one Solaiman of the village.
In another drive, Rab recovered three firearms and 10 hand grenades from a den of the criminals yesterday evening.
Two people were also arrested during the drive.
The arrestees are Md Arif Hossain, 27, of village Mahamudpur and Md Momin Sheikh, 30, of village Korail in Santhia upazila of the district.
Commanding Officer of Rab-12, Pabna camp KM Tanvir Anwar, said following an intelligence report, a team raided the residence of Mabia Khatun of the village at about 6pm and seized the arms.
