Seven shops gutted
At least seven shops were gutted in a fire at Ghagra Bazar in Kaukhali upazila early yesterday. Local people said the fire broke out at about 1:00am at a shop of the bazar and soon engulfed six other adjacent shops. On information, fire fighters from Sadar headquarters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts. The affected shop owners claimed that the extent of loss from the fire could go up to Tk 50 lakh.
