Jamaat leader, 2 others held in Bagerhat
Police arrested district ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and its two activists from an orphanage at Sonatala in Sadar upazila early yesterday.
The arrestees are district Ameer Moulana Moshiur Rahman and two activists--Ahsanul Kabir and Emdadul Kabir.
Harun-ur-Rashid, sub-inspector of Bagerhat Model police station, said on secret information, they conducted a raid at the orphanage at dead of night and arrested them when they were holding a clandestine meeting.
Other activists, however, managed to flee. District Jamaat leaders said police arrested the Jamaat leader and activists to foil BNP's road march programme.
