Six commit suicide' in 4 dists
Six people allegedly committed suicide in four districts in the last four days since Thursday.
They are two housewives, a young woman and three men.
A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house at Bhogra village in Sadar upazila of Gazipur on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Asma Akter Nodi, 22, daughter of Akhter Hossain of Kalam Char village in Shariatpur district. She was married to Maruf Hossain of Bhogra village two and half months back, reports UNB.
The reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately.
In Rangpur, another housewife allegedly committed suicide in Pirganj upazila on Thursday, reports our correspondent.
Family sources said, Nazma Begum, 35, daughter of Mojibar Rahman of Dokkin Jafarpara village of Pirganj was married to Swadhin Mian, a teacher of Jafarpara Darul Ulum Kamil Madrassa and son of Ismail Hossain of Babonpur villager of Pirganj upazila several years ago.
Nazma allegedly committed suicide by taking poison on Thursday night as she could not bear the torture by her husband anymore, they said.
Meanwhile, a young woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at a students' mess on Saturday night at Rangpur town.
Family sources said, Nahid Aktar, 21, daughter of Md. Nuru of Akalitary area on Collage Road was a mental patient.
On Saturday evening she came from her sister's house at Dinajpur. Finding the students mess beside the house vacant she went there and committed suicide, they said.
In Satkhira, a middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide by taking poison at village Nagarghata Dakhkhinpara in Tala upazila Saturday night, reports our correspondent.
The victim was identified as Sadek Ali Ansari, 45, son of Momtaz Ali Ansari of the village.
Quoting local people police said, following quarrel with his wife, Sadek Ali, father of three daughters and two sons, took poison in his room at about 10:00pm.
In Netrakona, two people allegedly committed suicide at Kacharpur village in Atpara upazila early Sunday, according to UNB.
Local people said Ratan Mia, 35, following a quarrel with his family members, committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree late at night.
In another incident Abul Kalam, 30, of the same village, following a family feud, hanged himself from a nearby tree early in the morning.
