Agri bank in Rangamati looted, 2 held
Baghaichhari police yesterday arrested two bank staffs in connection with a case for looting upazila branch of Bangladesh Krishi Bank on Friday night.
The arrestees are cashier Sanjib Chakma and night guard Md. Iliyas.
According to officeials, Tk 14,72,121 was looted by unknown criminals.
Satya Bikash Chakma, manager of the bank, yesterday filed a case with Baghaichhari police station in this connection.
The looters entered the bank through the ventilator of a toilet on the back side of the building. They took keys from drawers and then looted money, said Satya Bikash Chakma.
Two iron rods, a hammer and a chisel used to loot money were recovered by police from inside the bank.
