Drug peddler stabs student to death in Narsingdi
A madrassa student was stabbed to death allegedly by a drug peddler at Chanditala village in Monohardi upazila on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mahfuz, 18, a student of Barachapa Islamia Senior Madrassa of the upazila and son of Maniruddin of Chanditala village.
Police quoting local people said, while drug peddler Farid of the village was selling spurious drugs, Mahfuz tried to resist him.
At this, Farid became furious and at one stage of altercation stabbed Mahfuz indiscriminately at around 7:00pm, leaving him critically injured.
Locals rushed him to Sadar hospital where the attending doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. Later, Mahfuz succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
