Traffic jam for cattle markets

A makeshift market of sacrificial animals occupies a good portion of Dhaka-Pabna highway at Bera Chattar Hat in Bera upazila under Pabna district, adding to traffic jam on the busy road and worsening sufferings of the home-bound passengers ahead of the Eid ul Azha. Most of the cattle markets in the district, set up beside roads, create similar problems, as authorities' instructions to keep the roads free from cattle and goods are hardly followed. Photo: STAR
