Man arrested for cheating with fake notes
Police arrested a man for cheating with fake note at Borobaria Munshipara village in Chitalmari upazila on Friday night.
The arrestee was identified as Mannan Fakir, 35, son of Sirajul Fakir of the village.
Hamid Sheikh, a villager, through Mannan sold his cow to Mosharraf Hossain of Singipara village in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj district at Tk 22,000 on October 31. Mannan himself paid the money.
When Hamid returned home he found that 20 notes out of total 22 of Tk 1000 denomination fake and informed the police.
Later, police arrested Mannan Fakir and on the basis of his confession recovered the sold cow of Hamid Sheikh from Tungipara.
Sensing danger cow purchaser Mosharraf Hossain managed to flee away.
Police said Mannan confessed that he was involved in cheating by fake currency notes since long.
