'Robber' beaten to death in Chandpur
A suspected robber was beaten to death while another was injured by a mob in Chandpur Sadar upazila early Tuesday.
Md Alamgir Hossain, officer in-charge (Investigation) of Chandpur Model police station, said a gang of at least eight robbers stormed into the house of one Hamid Kazi at Madna village around 1:00am.
Hearing screams of the family members, neighbours rushed to the house and caught two of them.
The angry villagers beat up the two robbers mercilessly, leaving Mohammad Yasin, 40, dead on the spot, the OC said. Yasin was a resident of Gobindapur village in Sadar upazila.
Injured Mokbul Hossain, 42, of Notunbazaar village of the town, was admitted to the local Sadar Hospital in critical condition.
