Call to cast last minute votes for Sundarbans
Khulna City Corporation (KCC) mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque has again called upon the people to cast their votes for Sundarbans through SMS from mobile phones or by using internet to establish the world's largest mangrove forest as one of the new seven wonders of the world in its final race.
He made this call while addressing a press conference on Sunday at Khulna Press Club.
"Let's not hesitate any more to cast our votes for the Sundarbans without delay. Because, there are only 10 days left as the last date of casting vote is November 10," the Mayor said.
Organised by Sundarban Supporters' Committee (SSC), the press conference was addressed by its convenor Alhaj Liakat Ali and coordinator AK Hiru.
The SSC convenor Liakat Ali said in his written statement that the Sundarbans is still on top of the list of seven natural wonders of the world by beating all other contestants in the latest round of voting.
Yet, there is no reason to be satisfied as all other contending countries are still trying hard to find place as one of new seven natural wonders, he said.
