Schoolboy murder in Pabna triggers protest

Teachers and students of a school formed a human chain on Sunday demanding punishment to the killers of a student of the school. Criminals killed Imran Hossain, a student of class nine at Shahid Fazlul Haque High School in the town and dumped the body near Madhupur Madrassa in Sadar upazila early Wednesday. Victim's mother filed a case with Ataikula police station and police arrested two 'friends' of the victim from Madhupur village on Thursday night. Sagor, 18, and Shabuj,19, killed Imran due to past enmity, police said. “During interrogation, the arrestees confessed to their involvement in the murder," said Md Robiul Hassan, officer in-charge of Ataiklula police station. On Sunday, agitated teachers and students of Imran's school and locals demanded punishment of the killers at a human chain held in front of the school. Among others, Md Khalequzzaman Sweet, president of the school managing committee, Md Shihab Uddin, headmaster of the school, Habibur Rahman Tota and Golam Robbani spoke. We want exemplary punishment of the criminals so that nobody dares to commit such crime again, the speakers said.
