<i>Four kidnapped students rescued in two districts</i>

Law enforcers rescued four kidnapped students, including two females, from Jhenidah and Satkhira in the last three days. In Jhenidah, two schoolboys, abducted on Thursday in Pangsha upazila of Rajbari district, were rescued from Dhalharachandra village in Shailkupa upazila on Saturday night, reports our correspondent. They are Sachchu Rahman, 17, son of Gafur Joarder and Nazmul Hossain, 18, son of Aziz Joarder of Alamdanga village. Both are class ten students of Alamdanga Secondary Shool under Pangsha upazila. Officer-in-Charge Ahsan Habib of Shailkupa police station said Sachchu and Nazmul went to Nadurai village riding a motorbike on Thursday afternoon. When they were returning home in the evening, a gang of criminals waylaid them and picked them up from the village, he added. The gang took the schoolboys to Dhalharachandra village, held them captive in a house and demanded a ransom of Tk 20 lakh for each of the two, police quoting the victims said. Acting on a tip-off, Shailkupa police raided the village at around 9:30pm on Saturday and rescued the students from the house of one Subad Sardar. The abductors fled the scene, sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the OC said Our Satkhira correspondent reported that two schoolgirls, abducted on October 10 and 20 in Kalaroa upazila, were rescued from Kaliganj upazila and Kazirhat in Kalaroa upazila of the district on Friday and Saturday. Both are the students of Elishpur KKEP High School in Kalaroa upazila and were abducted on way to the school. The law enforcers raided different areas of Kalaroa and Kaliganj upazilas in the district and rescued the two. Police rescued a class ten student of the school from a village in Kaliganj upazila on October 28. One Abdus Samad, 25, son of Abdur Razzak of Elishpur village under Kalaroa upazila, was arrested in connection with the abduction of the schoolgirl. Acting on a tip-off, police raided Kazirhat area in the upazila early yesterday and rescued the other victim, a class nine student of the same school, from a house. After abduction of the girl on October 20, victim's father filed a case with Kalaroa Police Station, accusing one Nasir Uddin and two others of Elishpur village. Police said they could not arrest the main accused, Nasir Uddin, as he fled the house, sensing their presence.
