The damaged goods included stored jute, dried chilly, foodgrains and furniture, reports our correspondent.
The fire reduced four dwelling houses to ashes and nothing but human lives could be saved, said Ibrahim Ali, owner of a house.
Meanwhile, a house owner filed a case with Shaghata police station alleging that one of his opponents Abdul Quddus, with whom he had a longstanding quarrel over a piece of disputed land, might have set fire to the houses, said police.
