AL on Border Survey
'Raise voice against BNP propaganda'
Ruling party leaders at a rally near Jafflong border yesterday said BNP and its allies are giving false statements about the recently concluded joint survey to create unstable situations on the border.
The survey will help resolve the long standing problems on the common borders with the Indian states of Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura, they added.
Addressing the rally as chief guest at Amir Miah High school playground, AL advisory committee member Suranjit Sen Gupta MP said the opposition is out to create unstable situations on the borders. “We won't let them doing that, the people at the frontiers will resist them,” Suranjit said.
He said not an inch of land has been given to the Indians. Rather the long standing problems along the Padua-protappur, Dibir Haor, Jafflong and other borders are being resolved permanently, he added.
The other speakers said the BNP and its allies are playing this foul game under the banner of 'Amra Simantabashi' and trying to create unstable situations on the border by giving false statements about the recent survey.
The urged the border people to raise voice against such propaganda and help keep borders peaceful.
Joint survey on the adversely possessed lands along the Sylhet-Meghalaya, Sylhet-Tripura and on Sylhet-Assam borders were done recently. On the basis of the findings, the authorities concerned will decide about the exchange of the lands very soon, survey officials said.
