Another ferry runs aground
Ferry service disrupted on Paturia-Daulatdia route for one hour yesterday as the Ro-Ro ferry Birshreshtha Jahangir ran aground in Padma shoal with 16 vehicles.
The ferry service resumed at around 2: 00 pm after the authorities rescued the stranded ferry by the rescue boat IT-389, BIWTC officials said.
On Tuesday, Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman ran aground in the shoal with 10 vehicles and it was salvaged after eight hours.
On Saturday the Ro-Ro ferry Khanjahan Ali ran aground in the shoal with 24 vehicles and remained stuck there for six hours.
On Friday, two ferries--- Shah Ali and Shah Poran ran aground one after another in shoals with over 40 vehicles near Daulatdia Ghat .
